Steven Hitchen is Head of the Research Department of Colliers International working also as a Special Project Coordinator co-operating with the Communication Department. His responsibilties include making researches on the Polish real estate market, preparing annual, mid-year and quarterly reports and the implementation of the eResource platform for Poland. Also Steven is the company's in-house editor for all outgoing English language documents.
After obtaining a bachelors degree specialising in French and economics in 1997, he came to Poland for the first time, spending several months in Gdansk giving English lessons.
His professional life has seen him working in London and Paris for Arthur Andersen, with his time in the French office spent in the company’s research department. Later in Paris, he spent a year and a half working as a general assistant to two directors within a small private equity firm, again working on research, particularly as part of a hedge fund that had been set up. In March 2004 he returned to Poland, and got to know the real estate sector working as a journalist for Eurobuild Poland. As well as speaking French fluently, he has an intermediate level in Polish.
