Since the restrictive policy on foreign investment in real estate has been in place, over 2,700 foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs) on real estate development have registered with MOFCOM.  Among which over 1,200 are new set-up.

Given that foreign investors usually set up one FIE for each specific development project, the figure suggests that over 1,200 development projects have been initiated by foreign investors over the past 2 years.
